This week, I had the honor of attending the opening night of Portraits of Hope at the Shepherd Center here in Atlanta.

For those unfamiliar, this incredible project showcases the resilience, courage, and hope of individuals recovering from brain and spinal cord injuries. As a volunteer photo assistant for the project, I had a behind-the-scenes view of something extraordinary: the way a single photograph can honor a person’s strength and spirit in ways words sometimes can’t.

And standing there, watching these beautiful portraits unveiled, I was reminded exactly why I created Turron House Studio.

Why This Project Hit Home for Me as a Photographer

At Turron House, I believe portraits are more than just “pretty pictures.” They’re about seeing yourself fully—not just who you are today, but the story of how you got here.
